Q:As a Christian, the youth leaders and I have been discussing a lot. Halloween is wrong to celebrate, I could kind of see that. They also point at all of the horror stuff. What do you think about this? I stand alone in my opinions because everyone is... different.. from me lol.
If people in your church say that celebrating Halloween is wrong, then they shouldn’t celebrate Christmas either. Because it’s become just as much of a pagan holiday as Halloween. I see Halloween as a fun time to spend with friends, and it is fun yo dress up. I’m not out putting razor blades in candy, and I’m not apart of any satanic rituals on Halloween night, so I don’t see why it’s so bad. It’s innocent fun, that’s all. I should have to miss out on all the fun because of the few people who have taken it too far in the past.
Horror is definitely not wrong, either. I don’t really see why anyone would say so. There are some pretty cool stories in the Bible that would make very neat horror movies. Christians find entertainment in action movies, romance movies, and many other worldly things. Horror is no different than any of the others.
In fact, most horror movies stay true to the classic “good vs. evil” scenario, and though it may be portrayed darkly, good prevails in the end.
I see nothing wrong with horror. And if anything, it’s embraced by the Bible.
